The first furniture is in the guest room! The bedside tables arrived yesterday, and I set to work to put them together. Here are the ones I chose…
This is the nightstand with 1 drawer Westerleigh from AllModern. Looks like they are now sold in white, but they still have it in gray and pink. It was really quite easy to mount, but I had to uninstall and reinstall the drawer rails (which were pre-installed) on both of them as they were not properly aligned in the opening. It was a bit boring, but it wasn’t hard.
Anyway, I draped the golden yellow velvet headboard cloth onto a cardboard box just to get an idea of what it will look like…
It is the Golden velvet Majesty of Fabric.com, and it’s really gorgeous and cute. I look forward to the bed being upholstered and the new headboard being made!
I mentioned yesterday that I would probably build a dresser for the room. I feel like the room needs the warmth of the tinted wood I have in the other rooms with the hardwood floor. But since this room has a painted floor, I need to bring the warmth of the wood with a piece of furniture.
I’ve been looking up and down, and this Emile dresser from Ballard Designs is the only one I really like…
Purpose but (with shipping and taxes) seems to be a high price for a dresser for a guest room. So I’m going to build something similar myself, and I’ll probably use a slightly lighter spot color on mine.
One of the most important things I like about this dresser is how open it is underneath, so I bought these legs yesterday on Etsy….
These are ten inches tall, which I think is a larger ch than that of the Ballard Designs dresser. This means that these legs are thicker and less bulky than those of the Ballard chest of drawers, but I agree with this. When it comes to 9-to 10-inch legs, the choices are really pretty thin.
So that’s where I’m going with this room. I’m so excited to finally be on the fun part!
